Can Muslim Women go for Swimming in Islam? For a woman to go to a swimming pool, definitely it’s out of the question. wearing swimming costumes or swimming suits whether one piece or two pieces, is totally prohibited. because the thighs, the curves, everything, the whole nine yards are totally out of order. so does this mean a woman can not swim? no, she can swim but she has to wear something that covers her thighs and back and buttocks and properly cover her up, the body as well. a white T-shirt etc and the burkini they have nowadays which is a little bit infamous, may and may not do the job depending on how tight it is. but generally speaking, it does the job. but it covers more than she’s supposed to cover. she doesn’t have to cover her arms if she’s going in a segregated swimming pool which is totally for females. so a woman has to preserve her chastity and be careful when going to such places. and Allah azzawajal knows best.

There have been many scholarly debates on whether Can Muslim Women go for Swimming in Islam? Some scholars argue that women can engage in swimming as long as they adhere to Islamic guidelines of modesty, such as wearing appropriate swimwear that covers the body. They may suggest that women swim in women-only environments or with close family members to maintain privacy and avoid potential situations that may compromise modesty.

On the other hand, there are scholars who discourage or prohibit women from swimming due to concerns about potential exposure and the mixing of genders in public swimming pools or beaches.

Is mixed swimming haram?

 

A Muslim should avoid mixed swimming pools where men and women participate at the same time, let alone swim there when both men and women are there. It is totally haram, not only for women but men as well, because it leads to temptations and wrongdoings.

Is Going to Beaches Haram?

 

It is important to keep in mind — may Allah be pleased with you — that the Muslim is instructed to safeguard his religious commitment and to avoid locations where there may be fitnah (temptation). Going to these beaches is prohibited because to the ‘awrahs that are exposed and the irresponsible mixing of men and women that takes place there.

Furthermore, as these locations are rife with bad things, you are not permitted to visit them unless you intend to uphold moral principles and ban evil behavior.

so Can Muslim Women go for Swimming in Islam? Islam tries to preserve the modesty and chastity of women and takes extra care of them, and protects them from all evils and fitna. That’s why going to swimming pools is discouraged for women. They can go to women-only swimming pools, however, where there is no male attendant. or wear a costume that covers her body overall, which should not be skinny and tight, so as to show off the outline of the body. but it is best to refrain from going to swimming pools for Muslim women.

At-Tirmidhi (2801) also narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not let his wife enter bathhouses.” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi.
