1) It describes the al-Mann and Salwa, which were a gift from Allah Most High, as having been sent down on the Banu Isra’il of Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him).
2) The name “al-Mann” derives from the root “imtinan,” which is Arabic for “blessings,” “favor,” and “graciousness.” This suggests that the mushroom, which grows after rain without the need for cultivation, is a gift from Allah Most High. (Fath al-Bari, 10/202)
