There are numerous paths to financial success. Good income is crucial in today’s competitive world for giving life purpose. Through the power of money, people desire to compete with one another.

Increasing your income legally is not a bad thing. But on occasion, it might be really challenging to determine whether our money is lawful or not. Muslims often wonder, “What should we do for selecting a profession?” when looking for a new job or business.

Here, we’ll go over some general guidelines for Haram and Halal jobs opportunities as well as certain obviously haram businesses and jobs we should not do.

Haram and Halal Jobs Basic Rules:

1. Fundamentals of Haram and Halal Jobs

Rules for What does Islam define as a haram business?

a)       You cannot hold any positions in that company if the primary aspect of your work is prohibited by Islam. As an example, you are not permitted to work for any organization that is centered on the sale or promotion of alcohol. since drinking is a serious sin. You therefore cannot apply for any position in that company if the primary activity there is wholly haram.

b)      You can work for a position that does not directly promote or include haram acts if you are going to work for a company that is partially haram (mixed). You may work for that company as long as the principal activity is not prohibited, but you may not hold a position that is directly related to providing haram services. For instance, if a five-star hotel serves alcohol, you wouldn’t work at the bars; instead, you’d be a cook, a receptionist, or a cashier. But the hotel’s main service shouldn’t be for alcoholics.

c)       All other employment that is lawful and compliant with Islamic principles is halal.

2. Fundamental Rules for Haram and Halal Business

1) Any business that adheres to the Shari’ah and Islamic principles is considered to be permissible and Halal. No matter how much or how little money a person makes, it must be halal.

2) Islam forbids and declares as haram all industries, businesses, and professions that do not lead to a free and equitable exchange of commodities and services. For instance, stealing, gambling, and bribes. As a result, Islam forbids engaging in any kind of dishonesty or deceit in commerce. Islam forbids receiving money earned by deceit, fraud, or theft.

Unfair exchanges or fees for borrowing are prohibited by Islamic law, and the Arabic word riba, which means “to enhance” or “to surpass,” is used to describe them. In Islam, whenever someone requests any sort of profit or interest on a loan, this is referred to as riba (interest/sood). Giving loans entails assisting people solely for Allah’s benefit. Therefore, it is forbidden to engage in any kind of work that depends on receiving gifts of money or other items (haram).

“Allah has made interest fruitless and charity fruitful. And Allah does not like any ungrateful evildoer.” [Quran 2, 276].

In Islam, riba is a serious sin. You cannot legalize anything by viewing it from a new perspective. This revenue cannot be made legitimate through indirect means. “So when they took pride in that which they had been forbidden, We said unto them: Be ye apes despised and loathed!” [Quran 7,167].
