Durood e Ibrahim is a prayer that we have remembered and memorized right from childhood and we pray it regularly after Attahiyat in every Salah.

What is Durood e Ibrahim?

A durood is a type of prayer and blessing that we send to our Prophet (PBUH). Since Durood Ibrahim is recited in each and every Salah prayer after the Attahiyat, it is among the most often recited durood. “O Allah send peace on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and to the family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as you sent peace on Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the family of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) Indeed, you are praiseworthy and glorious. O Allah, bless the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as you blessed Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the family of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) Indeed, you are praiseworthy and glorious.”

Virtues of Darood e Ibrahim

Here are some of the Virtues of Darood e Ibrahim as mentioned in the Hadiths:

“Whoever recites Durood upon me once, Allah grants him ten blessings, Forgive his ten sins, And raises his levels”

When to recite Durood e Ibrahim?

Importance Based on Quranic Verses

“Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.”
