On Friday, March 15, renowned American rapper, record producer and DJ Jonathan H. Smith, better known by his stage name Lil Jon accepted Islam at the King Fahad Mosque in Los Angeles.
Social media users have been sharing a video clip of Lil Jon, assisted by a scholar, pronouncing the Shahadah, the testimony of faith.
While there have been differing opinions on the video, the majority of its followers have been supportive.

Lil Jon’s Conversion to Islam
The decision was taken by the renowned producer and DJ about a month after the release of his album Total Meditation on February 16. The project is a clear departure from his well-known hit song “Turn Down For What.”
Lil Jon collaborated with Usher’s hit song in 2004 “YEAH!” with Ludacris, which was performed during the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show in Las Vegas. On February 9, the song went platinum 13 times.
The musical giant also collaborates with HGTV, where he turns ordinary houses fascinating on the show “Liil Jon Wants to Do What?”
The early 2000s saw Lil Jon become well-known for his upbeat approach and catchphrases like “Yeah!” and “Okay.” He also had hits including “Turn Down for What” and “Get Low.”
After American writer and activist Shaun King, Lil Jon is the second famous American to convert to Islam during the first week of Ramadan.
Lil Jon becomes one of many notable people who have converted to Islam by accepting the faith; the most well-known being Robert Bauer, Andrew Tate, Jake Matthews, Gervonta Davis, and Alfie Best Jr., among others.

Even though Jon had a successful career working with celebrities like Usher, Ciara, Eminem, and Ludacris and had accumulated an estimated net worth of $30 million, he was still looking for something more. despite his fame and fortune, there was still a gap that brought him to the road and truth of Islam.
