Famous American activist and writer Jeffery Shaun King converted to Islam along with his wife Rai King on the first day of Ramzan 2024 (1445 AH).
Shaun King embraced Islam with the Help of Omar Suleiman
With the assistance of US Muslim activist and scholar Omar Suleiman, Shaun and Rai King declared Shahadah, the declaration of faith, in a live broadcast that was posted on Instagram on Monday by “Professor” Khaled Beydoun, who is based in the US. the video of Shahadah, the declaration of faith, being pronounced by Shaun and Rai King with assistance from American Muslim activist and scholar Omar Suleiman is flooding the internet.

What is Shahada?
The Arabic word for the proclamation of faith in the one true God (Allah) and His messenger is the Shahada (shahadah).
In Arabic— أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِTransliteration: “Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasulu-Allah.”Translation: “I bear witness that there is no God but God (Allah – i.e. there is none worthy of worship but Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”It is the most sacred verse in Islam and is to be recited with complete comprehension and awareness of its significance.
Shaun, a 44-year-old activist, is most known for supporting Democratic Party campaigns like Black Lives Matter.
He said on December 25 that Instagram had suspended his account because he supported Palestine in the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Shaun, who has more than six million followers on Instagram, voiced his annoyance at being banned from the platform for supporting the rights and dignity of Palestinians.
Since October 7, Shaun has shared a number of pro-Palestine messages, drawing attention to the devastation in the Gaza Strip and urging an end to Israel’s cruel military campaign there.
